Our 2D & 3D maps, models & surveys can create accurate maps and models of buildings, installations such as wind turbines or complex terrain allowing calculation of slope, distance & volume and overlaying of plans & designs.
We can create high-resolution drone maps for landowners, developers, estate managers, and surveyors across the UK. Using state-of-the-art drone technology, we can produce precise, survey-grade accurate 2D orthomosaic maps and 3D digital surface models that help you understand, plan, and manage your land more effectively. These can be shared with there professionals and overpaid with plans and other information.
Drones generally navigate via a consumer grade GPS units similar to that in your phone or that Google uses on its maps. However this system is only accurate to between 5 and 10 metres compared to actual Ordnance Survey mapping data. That is not good enough when accuracy is needed such as for construction or for settling boundary disputes.
In the UK to achieve survey grade results we must have a position within 1cm horizontally of the Ordnance Survey's data.
To achieve this we utilise a more sophisticated global navigation satellite System (GNSS) using receivers in the drone and in a local base station to correct the drones GPS location and record the correct location. We then back this technology up using a system of known ground points within the survey site (known as GCPs) to check the satellite data.
Once the work is done the software will generate a check and record the levels of accuracy in a final report so you know you are in the right place.... Literally!
