LiDAR — Light Detection and Ranging — uses a laser scanner to fire hundreds of thousands of pulses per second at the ground, vegetation and structures below, measuring each return to build a dense, highly accurate three-dimensional "point cloud" of the surveyed area.
Where standard aerial photography and photogrammetry record only what the camera can see, drone-mounted LiDAR can penetrate gaps in tree canopy and undergrowth to map the true ground surface beneath. It captures fine structural detail, works in low light, and delivers centimetre-level accuracy across sites that would be slow, costly or physically difficult to survey on foot. For many land, heritage and infrastructure projects, it is the difference between an approximate picture and a measurable, survey-grade record.

Topographic & terrain surveys — Accurate bare-earth digital terrain models, contour maps and cross-sections for planning applications, land management, drainage design and civil engineering. LiDAR removes vegetation from the picture to reveal the true lie of the land.
Vegetated, wooded & difficult terrain — Woodland, scrub, steep gradients, riverbanks and rough grazing are exactly where traditional survey methods struggle. LiDAR sees through the canopy to map the ground reliably, making it ideal for forestry, estates and upland sites across the North West and North Wales.
Volumetric surveys — Fast, precise measurement of stockpiles, quarry faces, spoil heaps, landfill and excavations, with repeatable data to track change over time.
Heritage & structural scanning — Dense 3D capture of listed buildings, monuments, churches and complex structures, producing a conservation-grade digital record for condition monitoring, repair planning and archival purposes — all without scaffolding or contact with sensitive fabric.
Corridor & infrastructure mapping — Linear surveys of watercourses, tracks, embankments, pipelines and utility corridors, delivering the georeferenced detail needed for asset management and design.
Flood, drainage & environmental modelling — High-resolution elevation data to model water flow, identify low-lying and waterlogged areas, and support drainage schemes, flood-risk assessment and environmental reporting.
Construction & development — Baseline site surveys, earthwork and cut-and-fill calculations, and progress monitoring, delivered in formats that drop straight into your CAD and BIM workflows.

Every LiDAR project is delivered in the formats you need to act on the data, which can include:

We are a local, CAA-licensed drone survey business that takes responsibility for the whole job — flight planning, ground control, permissions, safe operation and clear reporting — so you receive usable data, not raw files you have to make sense of. Our team understands the terrain and the practical realities of working across the North West of England and North Wales, and we deliver data our clients can rely on and share directly with their own engineers, agronomists, architects and design teams.
