The client has a two story home with a large flat roof loft extension. The property is on a steep hill with no access to the rear other than through the house. To the front is a telegraph pole with a network of wires. There is no easy way to inspect the property safely by ladder, scaffold or cherry picker. The property faces south so the rear roof that is flat is facing North and the owners were concerned if moss etc had started to cover the roof and gutters. They enquired about our roof survey drone inspections.
We used a small drone to carry out the roof survey that took off from the rear garden to assess the entire roof and in particular the flat roof extension and then flew a second time from the front so we had line of sight to take images of the front gutters and gullies. Using a smaller drone allowed us to safely navigate between the overhead telephone cables at the front and carry out the drone inspection safely
The drone inspection was able to establish all the gutters and roof were in good clean condition but identify an area of damp where some moss may get established in the future near to the chimney. The clients were happy and agreed we would repeat the roof survey in 12 months to establish any change of the situation.
